Professional attendance at the construction stages that matter
Supervision is used where the approved method needs an arboriculturist to inspect, brief, witness or record particular operations. The aim is to keep the agreed tree-protection strategy intact when real site conditions are encountered.
Supervision is used when the tree-protection strategy depends on certain construction stages being inspected or witnessed by an arboriculturist. It is normally focused on specific hold points, not continuous presence on site.
The consultant can brief the site team, inspect protective measures, attend sensitive excavation or service work and record what happened. This gives the client an auditable trail and helps the contractor deal with unexpected site conditions without improvising around retained trees.
The best time to arrange supervision is before the relevant work is programmed. If we receive the condition, AMS, TPP and site programme, we can identify the attendance points and make sure the project team knows when to call.
What you receive
The exact output depends on the site and project stage, but the work should always be clear, coordinated and usable by the people making the next decision.
- Pre-start arboricultural site briefing
- Inspection of fencing and ground protection
- Supervision of specified works within or close to RPAs
- Photographic and written site records
- Liaison notes where tree officer involvement is required
- Completion or condition-discharge evidence where within scope
The finished information should be easy for the client and design team to understand, technically defensible for the Local Planning Authority and practical enough to carry forward into the next project stage.
